During the 1980's, I not only worked as a part time bus driver for Metro, I also lived in a discarded Metro trolley bus on Roosevelt Way. So it seemed especially appropriate that I should document this project. Metro, like any bureaucracy, is a great one for burning paper, and my permission to access the project came in the form of a 6 page document put together by their legal department. I was in driver's uniform when I went to sign and pick up the document, and was asked: "Why didn't you tell us you were an employee -- we wouldn't have had to go through all this!"
