Flaming Geyser State Park --
1982
This state park just Southeast of Seattle got its name from the natural gas deposits that were there.
At the entrance to the park, you can find a small pipe sticking out of the ground
that used to be lit up with a 'geyser' of flame several feet high.
The gas is gone now, burned up by the geyser that is this park's namesake.
