The Oregon Dunes -- August 1982

In some ways, you can't help but be reminded of the great deserts on the planet. But by comparison, this is a small place, a mere 36 miles long, and from the top of a large dune, you would always be able to see the Pacific Ocean to the West, or the forest to the East, and usually both.
